![]() Tony Seba: Essentially, it’s going as I predicted. What are you seeing in solar and energy storage markets at this time? Pv magazine: It’s 2017 and three years have passed since Clean Disruption came out. pv magazine Americas Editor Christian Roselund caught up with Tony Seba at the 2017 Intersolar North America trade show, two weeks after Volvo dropped the bomb and revealed that they would go all-electric in 2019, to get Tony’s latest thoughts on developments in the solar, battery and EV markets. These bold forecasts – which are consistently more bullish than those of market analysts – have brought him a dedicated following, but also detractors. His 2010 book Solar Trillions explored the scale of the future investment opportunity that solar and clean energy represent, and 2014’s Clean Disruption followed that by predicting that the coal, oil, gas and nuclear industries would be “obsolete” by 2030. Editor’s note: There are few figures in the global solar industry more controversial than Tony Seba. I've been in contact with a few people who have gutted their integrated liner skates in the same way Shop Task used to cut the SX before they got Seba to provide them with linerless "shells" in order to stick an Intuition liner in there. Something that you may not have thought of that you should consider, although it applies to all the skates on this short list, is that just because these skates have integrated liners doesn't mean the boot is ruined once the liner is. The stock frame is perfect for this and I'm sure you're willing to invest in (or already own) a flat setup frame for your city skating needs. The Igors seem like a winner for you even more so than for me (though I'm leaning towards them as well), because you want to learn slalom. They'll also save you a notable chunk of change. Much heavier, but have a more durable feel about them. The High Light Carbons, when compared to the Igors, are built like a tank from the anecdotal evidence I've accumulated. I suppose they could work since you're interested in slalom. The Trix has intentional play in the ankles for slalom tricks and that just put me off. I dropped the Trix from my list because I like a super high, super stiff cuff. Gotta say, I'm in a very similar position (I'm in old FR2s), interested in the same type of skating, and have looked at many of the same skates.
